She began her legal career as the first in-house staff attorney for Henderson County, North Carolina, in 1992. In this capacity, she advised the county manager, county department heads and the board of commissioners. She later became Assistant County Manager, and finally was appointed as the first in-house county attorney, reporting directly to the board of commissioners. In these various capacities with Henderson County government, she wrote policies, ordinances, and many contracts, including complex interlocal agreements and economic development agreements.

In 2005, she left Henderson County Government and joined the private sector, forming the partnership of Whitmire, Beeker & Townsend, which later became Whitmire & Beeker. Her primary practice was in most aspects of real estate law, including both residential and commercial, including the purchase, financing, and development of real estate. She also continued her experience in local government law by representing various local boards, and in representing citizens before local boards. With the advent of the recession in 2008, and its impact on the real estate business, she closed her practice and joined the Jackson Law Firm in 2010, where she continues to practice.

Angela’s practice at the Jackson Law Firm has evolved into a primarily litigation centered practice in which she utilizes all of the knowledge, skills and abilities she learned in her previous professional endeavors to bring a broad knowledge base to her litigation clients. Her litigation practice includes primarily complex civil litigation in Superior Court; however, she also practices domestic law in district court, and has practiced in the North Carolina Business Court.
