Preeminent Criminal Defense Attorney

Frank Jackson, J.D., is an unsurpassed Dallas, Texas criminal defense lawyer who has been nationally recognized for his exemplary abilities and courtroom expertise.

With over 30 years of experience practicing criminal law, defense expert Frank Jackson has been named a "preeminent attorney in the field of criminal law" by the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory. This rating system was established by fellow peers within the Dallas-area bar who rate one another on their legal and ethical ability. Only 14 percent of the bar nationally is considered "preeminent." In short, even the competition rates Jackson as one of the best.

In 2003, The Dallas Morning News called criminal defense attorney Frank Jackson "one of the best defense lawyers in this hemisphere." In addition to being named by D Magazine as one of the top 7 criminal defense attorneys in the Dallas area, Mr. Jackson was also featured in Dallas Law Magazine as a top Texas criminal defense lawyer.

High-Profile Results

In the process of trying more than 350 cases in courts around the nation, including more than 120 as a criminal defense lawyer, Frank Jackson has handled a number of high-profile assignments. For example, Mr. Jackson:

  • Successfully tried a civil rights case in which a narcotics officer was accused by the government of pulling a man off a dialysis machine and beating him up en route to jail. Despite a slanted newspaper story by the Dallas Times Herald, which focused negatively on his client, Frank Jackson obtained a Not Guilty verdict.
  • Obtained a verdict of Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity for a Texas Instruments employee who, distraught over his daughter's lifestyle, shot her and her friend in the front yard of the friend's house.
  • Argued a successful case for an Assistant District Attorney charged with stealing narcotics from a locked evidence room. Though his client was caught with narcotics in his possession, Jackson convinced the jury to acquit his client by reason of insanity, the first successful insanity defense raised in a criminal trial in Dallas in many years.
  • Mounted a successful defense of a former Assistant Superintendent of the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) charged with defrauding the district out of millions of dollars.
  • Scored an acquittal of a former expert Marine aviator who was the pilot of a Marlin Swaringer airplane on which 80 pounds of cocaine was found.
  • Won an acquittal for Robert "Bullet Bob" Hayes, the ex-Dallas Cowboy wide receiver, in one of the most publicized DWI trials ever. Since his client had been convicted earlier on drug charges and was on parole, a conviction in this case would have sent him back to prison.
